Expressing thoughts

'When the rain falls
They talk of Manchester
But when the triumphant rain falls
We think of rainbows
That's the Mancunian Way'

A poem by Lemn Sissay, broadcasted on the side of a building I came across whilst walking along Oxford road in Manchester, it made me think of how differently our thoughts can be put across, depending on how powerful we believe in ourselves. How the simplest of words can mean so much to one person. Manchester is the city where Sissay started out as a community activist and also a part of the collective black publishing project. This poem was him signifying his feelings. It definitely works and caught me eye. Lucy needs a space to capture attention, aswell as portraying a message showing what she is all about.
