book binding

After pondering my thoughts of how paper is taken for granted so much... funnily enough that next day our class took a book binding course with Lucy herself. Her personality towards paper intrigued me, caring so much as if it was human, intrigued me yet inspired me to act this way at small objects we throw over our heads, such a paper. We learnt how to tear and follow the grain of the paper, to fold using appropriate tools and utensils, and how to create a pattern of binding the folded paper together sewing using thread hardened with beeswax. Definitely a therapeutic activity, calming and relaxing I can see the connection between this and Lucy. Although I must say time consuming! Patience is a virtue.
